Welcome to the Pro-Am Winter Race Series

The series consists of three kayak races on the Lower Waimakariri River in Canterbury.

Each race has a different start location with the races increasing in length as the series progresses. Race One concludes by paddling up the Kaiapoi River to the finish line under the second Bridge in the town centre. Races Two and Three finish at the SH1 Waimakariri Bridge.

Topsport Kayaking is so passionate about kayaking and racing. We have put this series together to cater for both new and seasoned paddlers. We warmly welcome anyone new to the sport and encourage you to come along and gain some valuable experience. To all our seasoned paddlers we know and love, we look forward to hosting a race series with a twist that is guaranteed to get your heart rate up!

The series got off to a great start last year with some seriously amazing support from so many local paddlers. We could not have been more grateful! However the weather wasn’t particularly kind to us so Race Director Katie Cambie has moved the series forward a month in the hope of catching some better winter weather.
